Diljit Dosanjh dedicates Chandigarh concert to chess champion D. Gukesh, recreates Allu Arjun’s Pushpa dialogue

Chandigarh: Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh on Saturday dedicated his ‘Dil-Luminati’ concert in Chandigarh to India’s newly-crowned International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Champion, Gukesh Dommaraju.

He praised Gukesh’s hard work and dedication in achieving his dreams since a young age. He shared a video from the concert on his Instagram handle.

Diljit said during his concert, this concert is dedicated to world chess champion Gukesh.

He also shared that there are challenges in life, but one who knows how to deal with them achieves the goal.

Gukesh created history by becoming the youngest champion in the history of the game by defeating China’s Ding Liren in the final game of his FIDE World Championship match on Thursday.

Gukesh received his FIDE World Championship trophy the following day after his remarkable victory.

According to FIDE’s official website, the championship, which was tied at 6.5–6.5 until the final game, ended with a brilliant performance from Gukesh, who won 7.5–6.5 over Ding Liren.

Diljit also referred to the famous dialogue “Jhukega nahi” from the movie Pushpa starring Allu Arjun in his own way and said, “If the brother-in-law doesn’t bend, will the brother-in-law bend?”

‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has created a stir at the box office. It has emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, earning Rs 1,000 crore worldwide within seven days of its release.

Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetti Media, the film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil reprising their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s wife also attended the ‘Dil-Luminati’ concert in Chandigarh.

Meanwhile, ahead of her show, the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) issued an advisory urging her to avoid performing alcohol-themed songs during her live performances.

The advisory issued by CCPCR chairperson Shipra Bansal on Thursday specifically referred to songs like ‘Patiala Peg’, ‘5 Tara’ and ‘Kes’, the performance of modified versions of which promote alcohol, drugs or violence. Have been warned against.

Earlier, on November 15, the Telangana government had also sent a legal notice to Dosanjh, directing him not to perform songs promoting alcohol, drugs or violence.
