Diljit’s manager replied

Diljit’s manager Sonali issued a statement on Friday responding to the allegations. News18He said, “Our official team has never contacted Rajat Batta or Manpreet Toor who are spreading false stories on social media. Rajat and Manpreet were in no way a part of the Dil-Luminati Tour.” Los Angeles-based choreographer and dance institute owner Rajat Batta and Manpreet Toor were the ones who had leveled allegations of non-payment against Diljit.

Rajat had written a long note on his Instagram, saying, “While we as a Desi Dance community are really proud of a Desi artist who is breaking the glass ceiling and doing sold-out tours across North America… I still feel deeply disappointed that Desi Dancers are still undervalued as an industry. All the Desi Dancers in Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour were not paid, and were just expected to perform for free… Desi Dance as an industry has become a lifeline for artists and plays a vital role in the entire ecosystem of the industry… While its choreography, stage performances, music videos, reels, even promoting songs… it’s an essential part of the production and it’s really disappointing to see an artist of this caliber cutting corners by stepping on the throat of the Desi Dance Industry and continuing that culture. Diljit, we are so happy for your success, but your dancers should have been paid and should have been a part of the production budget.
