Director James Gun says that his Batman will not be a camp

Washington: As DC Studio is preparing to launch its new cinematic universe under the leadership of James Gun, the co-CEO of the studio has made it clear that Dark Knight is one of their most important challenges.

According to the deadline, in a recent interview, Gunn opened his vision for Batman within the newly established DC Universe (DCU) and with the way to bring his current conflicts into the fold without repeating the mistakes of his Marvel equivalent.

Gunn, which is ready to dilute the much awaited ‘Superman: Legacy’, revealed that one of the most complicated elements of DCU is integrating Batman, a character whose legacy is both monumental and complex.
Despite the success of the Matt Reeves ‘The Batman’ starring Robert Pattinson, Gunn said that the Batman version introduced in the world of Reeves may not fit into the DCU as it takes shape around the upcoming Superman film.

“We have to think about it,” Gun said when asked about the possibility of bringing the version of Bruce Wayne to the new universe.

He said, “It is not that we have never discussed it. I will never say zero, because you never know. But this is unlikely. It is not possible at all,” he said, as is quoted by Deadline.
He also said that ‘The Batman Part II’ has not been canceled, contrary to rumors to be broadcast online.

“Matt’s slow. Let him take his time. God, people are mean. Let him talk to him,” Gun, “Gunn commented, defending the director’s creative process.
Instead, Gunn focuses on ‘The Brave and the Bold’, a new film about Batman with a different recurrence of character.

Set for development with IT director Andy Musciati, the film Grant will be based on Morrison’s comic book run, which introduces the concept of ‘Batman’, with a son, a child who is unknown.

This new version of Batman would not be the same as Pattinson, and Gunn insisted that his Batman would not be “camp”.

“My biggest issue of Batman is in all of the DC right now,” Gunn accepted, adding, “and not, I am not writing Batman, but I am working with the author of Batman and trying to correct it. He is an incredibly important for DC, as is Wonder Woman.”

Gunn also stated that the character should have a clear and compelling reason present within the DCU.

“Batman can’t” just ‘Oh, we are making a Batman film because all Warner is the biggest character of Batman in Brothers, “he said, saying that the presence of character should feel worthwhile in a large universe.

The director also shared that ‘The Brave and the Bold’ would explore a Batman, which is different from the deep, Gritier version seen in Reaves ‘The Batman’ and the camps of the past.
Gunn insisted, “He is not a camp Batman. I am not interested in it. I am not interested in a strange, camping Batman, in fact,” as is quoted by the Deadline.

With a significant part of the future of DCU with Batman’s character, the gun is determined to find the right way.

“I think I have a way,” he concluded, “I really know what it is – I am just working with the author to make sure that we can make it a reality.”
