Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister Uday Samant, who expressed concern over a dance scene in the upcoming period drama ‘Chhawa’, has said that the producers have decided to remove it from the film.
The film is directed by Laxman Utekar.
In a conversation with ANI, he said, “The director met Raj Thackeray, the head of Maharashtra Navneman Sena (MNS) today and after the meeting, he decided to remove the scene of playing Lezim (dance) from the film.”
The dance sequence consists of Vicky Kaushal and Rashamika Mandanna. Uday Samanta objected to this scene as Vicky, who is playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, he was danced in the film.
Produced under the banner of Madock films, ‘Chhava’ is a period of drama that depicts the famous story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj played by Vicky Kaushal. The film is set to portray the mythological rule of the courageous Maratha ruler, starting with its coronation in 1681.
