New Delhi: Producer-turned-actress Divya Khosla’s thriller ‘Saavi’ has surpassed ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ on Netflix even though both films released in the same week. ‘Saavi’ is topping the charts in several countries and is garnering widespread attention.
‘Saavi’ has also performed better than other major releases starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is a gripping crime thriller that will keep you hooked till the last minute. Saavi is now running at No. 1 in 14 countries – India, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Maldives, Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and UAE. Saavi is now available to watch on Netflix.
With the success of ‘Saavi’, Divya gained more recognition for her acting.
The film stars Anil Kapoor, Divya Khosla and Harshvardhan Rane in the lead roles. It is a remake of the 2008 French film Anything for Her, which also had a similar storyline in its 2010 Hollywood remake The Next Three Days with Russell Crowe. Inspired by the story of Savitri and Satyavan, Savi is the story of a simple housewife who attempts to get her husband out of a high-security prison in England.
Interestingly, unlike the original French and American remakes, this Bollywood film features a woman in the lead role.
