Diwali 2025 Calendar: Deepawali, also known as Deepawali, is one of the most famous Hindu festivals in India and around the world. The victory of light over darkness is a symbol of the victory and good over evil, the five -day festival is full of rituals, prayers and joyous celebrations. In 2025, Diwali will be celebrated from Saturday, October 18 to Thursday, 23 October, which will begin with Dhanteras and end with brother Dose.

Day 1: Dress – Saturday, October 18, 2025

Tithi: Treyodashi

Starts: October 18 at 12:18 pm

Ends: October 19 at 01:51 pm

Dhanterus marks the beginning of the Diwali festival. On this day, it is considered highly auspicious for buying gold, silver, utensils, or other valuable items because it is believed that it brings prosperity and good fortune. Homes and business complexes are decorated with lamps and rangoli. Devotees worship Lord Dhanwantari of Ayurveda for health and welfare.

Yama Deepam – Saturday, October 18, 2025

On the same day, people also inspect Yama Deepam, where a lamp (lamp) is burnt in the evening to remove negative energies at the entrance of the houses and to honor the god of death, Lord Yama, who asks for security for the family.

Day 2: Choti Diwali (Naraka Chaturdashi) – Monday, October 20, 2025

Ends: October 20 at 03:44 pm

Choti Diwali, also known as Naraka Chaturdashi, reminds us of Lord Krishna’s victory over the demon Narakasura. On this day, people get up early, apply fragrant oil, and ritual baths. The houses are decorated with diyas, and small scale functions begin with family functions and preparation of sweets.

Day 3: Diwali / Lakshmi Puja – Tuesday, October 21, 2025

Tithi: Amavasya

Starts: October 20 at 03:44 pm

Ends: October 21 at 05:54 pm

It is the main Diwali day and the most important part of the festival. The devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity with Lord Ganesha, demands blessings for happiness, success and abundance.

Families clean and decorate their homes, light lamps and candles, and in the evening Grand Lakshmi worships. Fireworks, feasts and gifts interaction add to the attraction of the festival.

Day 4: Govardhan Puja – Wednesday, October 22, 2025

Tithi: Pratypada

Starts: October 21 at 05:54 pm

Ends: 08:16 pm on 22 October

The fourth day of Diwali is dedicated to Govardhan Puja, which is also known as Annakut. Devotees prepare a variety of vegetarian dishes and present them to Lord Krishna, who remember the Govardhan hill to protect the villagers from heavy rains. Many communities use cow dung using symbolic Govardhan hills and worship them as part of rituals.

Day 5: Brother Dose – Thursday, 23 October, 2025

Ends: October 23 at 10:46 pm

The last day of Diwali is celebrated as a brother dose, which respects the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. The sisters apply a formal tilak to their brothers’ foreheads, pray for their long life, and offer sweets, while brothers in turn give gifts. It is similar to Raksha Bandhan but Diwali is observed with enthusiasm.

Diwali 2025, spread from October 18 to October 23, is not only about lights and ceremonies, but also about spiritual importance, family relations and cultural traditions. From buying gold at Dhanteras to demanding the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi at Diwali night, and praying to Lord Krishna on Govardhan Puja, to celebrate brother -in -law on brother dose, it has a unique attraction and importance every day.
