Durga Puja 2025: CR Park Durga Puja Committee Durga Pandal took inspiration from Satyajit Kiran Sonar Banana

New Delhi: Chittaranjan Park Durga Puja Committee mixed tradition with cinematic magic, as he celebrated Shardia Navratri with a Durga Puja pandal inspired by Satyajit Ray’s film ‘Sonar Banana’ in Delhi.

Durga Puja festival has started across India, in which people are already walking with various pandals with their friends and families. Between them, those who stand outside are thematic decorations and unique concepts.

In New Delhi, Chittaranjan Park Durga Puja Committee adopted a cinematic theme for Durga Puja Pandal to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year for the construction of Durga Pandal.
Pandal along with Lord Ganesha gave shelter to a huge goddess Durga idol. Visitors Shardia Navratri was in awe of the grand festival of 2025, as they could not help but Snap the pictures of Goddess Durga Idol.

Pooja Committee Chairman Sumit Majumdar, considering the architecture of Durga Pandal, said that the pandal meets ‘Jaisalmer Fort’, while it contains elements inspired by the film ‘Sonar Banana’, who is appreciated by critics.

“We continue our ceremonies till Navami, and till Dashami, we immerse Maa Durga in our grounds. This incident is open to all and is organized as a grand opportunity. In particular, this year we have 50th anniversary of building a large pandal. The fort, with a golden finish, and inside, we perform the architecture of a Jain temple.

Similarly, the B-Block Durga Puja Committee in CR Park also celebrated its 50th anniversary with ‘Mitti’ or Durga Pandal, which symbolizes ‘Mother Earth’.

The Hindu festival of Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotswa, is an annual festival that respects the Hindu Goddess Durga and reminds him of his victory over Mahishasura.

Hindu mythology believes that the goddess comes to her worldly residence at this time to bless her devotees. In 2025, Durga Puja begins on 28 September (Shashthi) and ends on 2 October (Vijayadashami).
