Durga Puja to release on 2025 ‘Devi Chaudhuran

Mumbai: The upcoming historical drama by National Award winner Sugharjit Mitra, “Devi Chaudurani, is scheduled for a major dramatic release on 26 September 2025, which is aligned with a lively celebration of Durga Puja, Bengal’s most prestigious cultural ceremony.

The characteristic of Posonjit Chatterjee and Sribanti Chatterjee in the lead roles with music composed by Pandit Bikram Ghosh, the film is a historic milestone, which is first officially officially recognized in Indian cinema, supported by both Indian and UK governments, as co-production. Speaking about the project, producer Aparna Dasgupta, Saumayjit Majumdar and Anirudh Dasgupta shared, “With Devi Chauduran arriving at this Durga Puja, we are not just starting a film – we are illuminating the flame of a cultural movement.

As producers, we are proud to bring out a story that reinforces the revolutionary heritage of Bengal and keeps it for global resonance. Durga Puja, one of the world’s largest public art ceremonies, provides the perfect canvas for this cinematic celebration of resistance, flexibility and redistribution.

Goddess Chaudurani marked the beginning of Edited -Lok Katha Slate – a shared vision to tell the bold, exportable stories that inherit, yet in effect is universal. ,

While reflecting his role, Prasenjit Chatterjee said, “Goddess Chaudhurani is not just a film, it is a recurrence of our forgotten heroes. Bhavani Pathak is not denied to refuse to play, but Bengal still has a feeling of burning.

APARNA and Aniruddha Dasgupta of Adited Sompictures (India/Usa) and Lok Arts made by Soumyajit Majumdar of Collective (India/UK), this is based on the prestigious novel of Magnum Ops Banim Chandra Chattopadhyay, which is based on the ingredient Is ready through again. Officially declared as the first India-UK co-production facility by the Ministry of Culture of India in 2025, it was the only Indian film presented to international media at the event.

“Devi Chaudurani” has been supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, NFDC, Film Facilitation Office and Invest India, as well as co-production from the British Film Institute (BFI) and UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
