One of the most important holidays in Islam is Eid ul Azha, sometimes called Bakra Eid. It is one of the two holiest days celebrated by Muslims around the world and honors the test of faith undertaken by the Prophet Ibrahim. Special prayers performed in mosques and the sacrificing of lambs and goats are examples of rituals. Every Muslim able to do so must perform the Hajj pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime.

The tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah is Eid al-Adha. If the moon is sighted on June 6, Dhu al-Hijjah will begin on June 7. Arafah Day falls on June 15 (Dhu al-Hijjah 9) and Eid al-Adhah on June 16 (Dhu al-Hijjah 10).
Arafah Day, which falls on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, commemorates the second day of the Hajj pilgrimage. On the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al Adha, which follows Arafah Day. It is a time for sharing meals together with loved ones, close friends and the underprivileged.
Significance of Eid ul Azha
Known as Eid ul Azha or the “Festival of Sacrifice”, this festival commemorates the willingness of Prophet Abraham (Abraham) to sacrifice his son to please God. But God gave a ram instead to sacrifice. This celebration signifies the importance of sacrifice, obedience and faith.
