Mumbai: Producer Ekta Kapoor, whose female-led film “Crew” received a thunderous response earlier this year, has expressed concern over the rising use of “treated” foods in the market.

Recently, Ekta has shared two videos in the stories section of her Instagram. In the video, she is sitting on a chair and showing large-sized blueberries, which according to her look like grapes.

In the first video, Ekta said: “Blueberries, they look like grapes. I’m 100 percent sure they’re treated. God, what are we eating these days?” In the second video, the producer pointed to another blueberry and commented, “And this one looks like an eggplant.”

Ekta, who is the daughter of actor Jeetendra, is considered one of the biggest icons of the television industry. She began her career at the age of 17 by doing an internship with advertising and feature film maker Kailash Surendranath.

His daily serials changed the direction of television, bringing a different style of storytelling centered on family dramas that appealed to a large section of the population, making his ventures highly profitable.

Ekta is a recipient of the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honour, and has also been honoured with the International Emmy Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmy Awards.

He has created and produced more than 130 Indian soap operas. Some of his popular shows include ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Pavitra Rishta’, ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii’, ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’, ‘Naagin’, ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and others.
