She wanted an experienced actor to be cast for the role, not someone completely inexperienced, someone who had only done a month’s acting course.”
Emraan further added, “So, she went to Bhatt sahab and said, ‘I don’t think Emraan is the right fit.’ I got angry, I was very angry with him. Now when I look back, I think Ameesha, from her point of view, was right.”
During the same conversation, Emraan Hashmi revealed that he retaliated against Ameesha in a fit of rage and barged in on the sets even though he was not required to. “I used to go to the sets of the film and watch her shoot, I used to even stare at her,” he said. Emraan also pleaded with Mahesh Bhatt to give him a chance. “I even asked Bhatt sahab to give me a chance. It wasn’t that I couldn’t really act; it was Ameesha who thought I couldn’t act. I was free at that time, so I would go to the sets because I wanted to be involved in the filmmaking process. I would go to the sets every day.
