German actress Delbar Arya mainly works in the Punjabi film industry. She is known for her appearance in Guru Randhawa’s famous music video ‘Downtown’ in other projects. She went to act in Punjabi films like PR, Tu Hovin Men Hovan, and Dumda, appreciated. Many people do not know that Delbar’s father is an experienced actor in Iran. In an interview with Zee News Digital, Delbar Arya opened to work in Punjabi films, his favorite film star and much more.
Q. You have worked with famous names in Punjabi industry like Guru Randhawa and are currently working with Poonam Dhillon. How was that experience?
– Guru Randhawa, being a known and successful artist, he is a very kind and supportive person to work with.
– Poonam Dhilan ji I am a great honor for him. He is a successful senior artist and working with him was a wonderful and fun experience. It did not seem that I was working with her for the first time, I made a very well relationship with her and we had a lot of fun on the set. She has so much experience when it comes to this camera framing, angle, marking, etc., I was just so amazing how she used to take some of us with such awareness on the set.
Q. The entertainment industry has taught you both personal and professional?
To protect the arts you have considered as an artist. Very art that has shaped me, and in fact, any other actors and artists from various departments of the film/entertainment industry should be given freedom and freedom to fly, to express, more than ever.
Q. Are you considering opportunities from South film industry or any other industry?
– Of course, I would also like to do South films and other Indian regional cinema. If I was able to learn and work in Punjabi, then I can work and perform in any Indian language. This is my love, passion and dedication to this country.
Q. Do you have other aspirations beyond acting, such as direction or other creative roles?
– No, I would like to do nothing other than acting, this is a part of my completion. But if I consider something other than working, then it will definitely dance.
Q. You have two upcoming Punjabi films, Madhaniya and Jadon da Mobile Aagya. Can you tell us that the characters you portray in these films are different from each other?
– They could not be more different than each other, so it was a good challenge on both characters simultaneously.
Q. Apart from these films, what other projects are you currently working or planning to take?
– You already know 3 of them and there are some other projects that will be declared in the near future.
Q. Who is your favorite actor from Punjabi films?
– Neeru Bajwa as both hero/ heroine! For me he is Shahrukh Khan of Punjabi film industry. The kind of change she has brought as a woman is beyond inspiration! She has opened so many opportunities for all women artists in Punjabi industry that there is no shelf life for us!
