Speaking exclusively to HT City over a Zoom call from Los Angeles, the actor confessed that being a part of Star Wars The franchise was nothing short of a dream come true for him. Master Sol faces off against a formidable foe from his past, with Leslye Headland directing the film into the obscure High Republic era of Star Wars canon.
“The Acolyte timeline begins 100 years before the existing Star Wars stories. I tried to understand the mindset of the Jedi. What did they think and feel in this context? Director Leslye Headland and I had countless discussions about the story, and I was impressed by her vivid imagination. She explained the connections between all these characters over time. Although crafting the character of Sol was not easy, it was an extremely satisfying experience for me as an actor.”

Lee Jung-jae – who rose to fame as the steadfast bodyguard in Sandglass (1995), received praise for his role as a man in love with his fiancée’s sister. dizzy(1998). “As an actor we don’t always get to choose our roles, we are chosen by them. I always hoped that I would get a good role. I try to constantly push myself and I hope that Acolyte will help me get even more opportunities over time.”

“There are a lot of new characters and it will be an interesting show.”
As we conclude our conversation, one cannot help but ask him if there are any similarities between him and his Master Sol, who is described as a calm yet forbidding force.
“We both like peace. I hate arguments and conflicts and I try to live in harmony with others. I think there should be a minimum of respect between individuals. I try to avoid making things difficult or inconvenient for others, Sol is very upstanding and has a standard of morals, and I think I do the same”, he says with a smile.
