Exclusive Mirzapur 3: Shweta Tripathi reveals that playing Golu took a toll on her mental health

Mumbai: One of the strongest characters of Mirzapur 3, Golu is played by the extremely talented actress Shweta Tripathi. The actress gave a brilliant performance in the show and is extremely happy with the way she is getting love from her fans and loved ones for playing a powerful character like Gajgamini Gupta aka Golu. After the release of Mirzapur 3, Zee News Digital had a special conversation with Shweta Where we asked him about much more besides being the strongest character.

Shweta Tripathi when asked about her character being the strongest in season 3 responded, “If Golu was alone, she would not have done anything. We all need each other and all these characters make Mirzapur. Situations and incidents have made Golu like this. Talking about Golu, she has suffered a lot in season 1 and season 2 because her loved ones have been taken away from her. And she is in a mood to take revenge. The worst thing for a woman is to make her feel small and so with the character of Golu, she is seen as ‘Arre ye choti si ladki kya kar legi’. Sadly, we live in a male-dominated society and to outshine others through this character is something I have really enjoyed and it is very satisfying.”

Shweta also spoke about how playing Golu affected her mental health. “Playing Golu was very tough for me mentally. It has happened twice in my career, first with Nawaz bhai (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) during my debut film Haraamkhor and now with other actors like Golu, Rasika and Ali and I get into it easily but I am learning. I haven’t studied so honestly I am learning how to move on and not let it affect me.”

Shweta also expressed her gratitude towards her family for supporting her in her journey of playing the mentally tiring character of Golu and called herself blessed.

Talking about what fans can expect from Mirzapur 4 and if the wait will be long, Shweta said, “We hope not, because we also want to know what happened to our characters because we are also fans of Mirzapur. And luckily as actors, we get to know beforehand, and our aim is to come as soon as possible.”
