Mumbai: Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan has been hailed as a masterpiece directed by Nag Ashwin. Kalki is making box office history every day and is performing well at the box office even on the 11th day of its release. The film has so far grossed Rs 900 crore at the box office worldwide. But will it be able to surpass the biggest blockbusters of the era and King Khan Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawaan and Pathan? The answer is no.
Zee News exclusively spoke to trade expert Rohit Jaiswal when we asked him if Kalki has the potential to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster films, to which he said, “Kalki is a masterpiece, and the film is getting a lot of appreciation from the audience. It has even earned more than its budget of Rs 650 crore. The basic figures that I have of Kalki’s 11th day box office collection are around Rs 700 to 750 crore and the producers are running in an additional Rs 100 to 150 crore buffer. So as per this figure, it will not be able to beat Jawaan and Pathan. Everyone knows the story of Kalki, and the film has done well everywhere except in Telangana. So Jawaan and Pathan will remain the highest grossing films of all time at the box office.”
