Actress Wani Kapoor prepared to act with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in her Bollywood return film Abir GulalHowever, after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April, the film faced a backlash.
Government sources told PTI that the film would not be allowed to be released in India.
Soon after the attack, all posts related to post Abir Gulal Vani disappeared from Kapoor’s Instagram account. It included posters, teasers, photos with Fawad Khan and the back visual material.
According to a report now, Vani himself did not remove the posts. According to the report, the material was originally shared as Instagram collab, and the deletion was done by the film’s production team. As a result, the post was automatically removed from his profile.
This was followed by the sanctions imposed on the Instagram accounts of many Pakistani artists, which included Fawad Khan, Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan and Atiyam Aslam. His profiles are no longer accessible from India.
The user trying to see them see a message, “Account is not available in India. The reason is that we have complied with legal request to ban this material.”
Abir GulalAarti s. A romantic drama directed by Bagdi and produced by Vivek Agraval, was scheduled to release in India on 9 May. But after the Pahalgam attack between India and Pakistan and the increasing political tension, the government said that the film would not be allowed to be released.
On 22 April, the attack at Pahalgam claimed 26 lives, most of the citizens. It has been described as the most deadly attack in the valley since Pulwama in 2019. Many Bollywood actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra condemned the violence. Pakistani actors Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan also expressed condolences.
Meanwhile, Vani Kapoor was last seen in RAID 2, where he played the role of Ajay Devgan’s wife. The film also included Saurabh Shukla, Ritish Deshmukh, Rajat Kapoor and Supriya Pathak.
Wani will be seen next time Misconduct gillUshati Khurana, Paresh Rawal, Sheeba Chaddha, Richard Bhakti Klein, and Monica Chaudhary. The release date has not been announced yet.
