New Delhi: Farah Khan and Sajid Khan’s mother Menaka Irani has passed away at the age of 79. The sad news comes after Farah’s recent Instagram post, in which she revealed that her mother had undergone multiple surgeries. Menaka Irani, who also worked with Salim Khan in the 1963 film ‘Bachpan’, celebrated her 79th birthday just two weeks ago. On her special day, Farah Khan and Sajid Khan posted a picture with their mother on social media.
Celebrities offer their condolences
Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan reached Farah Khan’s Mumbai house to pay tribute to her mother Menaka Irani on her demise. Rani Mukerji, Manish Paul, Vikram Phadnis and Fardeen Khan were also seen outside Farah’s house with Neelam and Seema Khan.

On July 12, the filmmaker shared an emotional post, which he captioned, ‘We all take our mothers for granted..especially me! Last month I realised how much I love my mom Menaka.. she is the strongest, bravest person I have ever seen..even after multiple surgeries her sense of humour is still intact. Happy birthday Maa!’
She further added, “Today is a good day to come back home, I can’t wait for you to get strong enough to start fighting me again… I love you.”
Sajid Khan also shared a photo with Menaka and Farah on his mother’s birthday and wrote, “Happy Birthday Mummy…”
