Singer Rahul Vaidya and his actor-wife Disha Parmar were blessed with their little daughter Navya in September last year, and they say life has “completely changed” since her arrival.
“Now, there is a check on everything I do in life. It has made me very gentle and careful, it has made me calm as a human being,” he adds, adding, “When you have a daughter at home, you think, ‘How would I feel if someone spoke to my daughter like that?’ My respect for women in life has generally increased. I have a daughter, which I am blessed to have.”
Sharing plans for his first Father’s Day with Navya, the 36-year-old says, “I will spend the whole day with her. She is so sweet. I love holding her in my arms and being with her. I will give her lots of kisses and hugs.”
For Vaidya, becoming the father of a girl is an honour. “It is because of them that I have been able to become a father, they have given me this honour. This is the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. God has given me what I asked for, I wanted a daughter. I don’t think anything can be more special than this,” he says.
When asked if he wants his daughter to follow in his footsteps, he told us that he doesn’t want to “pressurise” her to do anything in the future or choose singing as her career. “I would definitely want her to choose whatever she wants, I don’t have any expectations from her. I don’t want her to go into any particular field. But, the way she is very energetic, I think she can become a good athlete. She is very energetic. This is her way of showing her enthusiasm,” he concluded.
