Fefka Slams CBFCs allegedly named Kerala’s Janak vs. State and arbitrarily named

Kochi: The General Secretary of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), B Unnikrishnan is called “disturbing” and “arbitrary” on Friday, which is the alleged demand of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to the producers of ‘Janaki vs State of Kerala’ to change the name of the film and its title character.

The Kerala High Court has approached the Kerala High Court about the alleged informal instructions from CBFC, producer of ‘Janaki vs State of Kerala’ (JSK), starring Union Minister Suresh Gopi.

FeFka General Secretary Annik Rrrishnan told ANI, “We are not very definite or clear about the issue about JSK, the film JSK. But from our conversation with the director, we understand that CBFC is that CBFC is very curious that the name of the hero (Nupama Paramessran), which is some more problem.”

However, Unnikrishnan said that according to the film, its director, there is no specific religious reference or alliance.

“According to the director, the film has no specific religious reference or alliance. So this decision is really disturbing and very arbitrary. We are trying to find out what CBFC has to do. We hope that they will present the reason for a reason in the Hon’ble High Court this afternoon. After the rebellion of that document, we will take appropriate steps and address the issue properly.

The General Secretary of FEFKA also expressed disappointment with the alleged “random tech” on films for the last few years. He said that he is ready to address and discuss such a problem with the officials and the government.

“Our collective has serious issues with such random films. It has been happening for the last few years. So we need to address the issue in length and speak with the officials and talk with the government. We should have proper guidelines to rely on our members, our members. The guidelines that we have, they are very generalized.

Unnikrishnan further stated that FEFKA and South Eastern Film Reviewer Association (SEFCA) plans to argue in a petition filed by JSK in the High Court, however, he said, “This is a little early for it.”

He said, “We are planning to argue in the petition filed by the manufacturer in the High Court. Both SEFCA and Kerala Film Producers Association. So this is a very symbolic opposition. We want to address the issue in public domains and start discussing this public domain. Hopefully, next week or some more we can take forward those discussions.

JSK is produced by Cosmis Entertainment.
