Ahmedabad: Acclaimed musician Anu Malik expressed his happiness on reaching Gujarat to attend the Filmfare Awards 2025.
Expressing his love for the state, its people and food, he said, “I am feeling very good. I keep coming to Gujarat, especially Ahmedabad. Be it Surat, Ankleshwar, Porbandar, Baroda, wherever I get a chance, I go to Gujarat.”
He further added, “I love Ahmedabad food. Well, I love Gujarati food. We studied in Mithibai College, where I had many Gujarati friends. Since childhood, I have been attracted towards Gujarati culture, its cuisine and the people here. When we used to come to Karnavati Club, we used to perform there during Navratri. I have a strong emotional connection with Ahmedabad. And I love coming here.” Gujarat.”

Expressing his gratitude to the organisers, Malik said, ‘I would like to thank the Filmfare Awards for organizing this award in Gandhinagar, which is a very beautiful place.’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will host the upcoming edition of the Filmfare Awards in Gujarat along with Manish Paul and Karan Johar.
Filmfare had earlier shared the update on its official Instagram handle. The post read, “The Superstar, The Icon, The Enigma Take heart as the one and only #ShahRukhKhan is going to co-host the most awaited #70Hyundai Filmfare Awards2025 with Gujarat Tourism taking place on 11th October at EKA Arena, Ahmedabad.”
Filmfare Awards 2025 will be held on October 11 at EKA Arena, Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad.
In August, an MoU was signed in Gandhinagar between Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) and Worldwide Media Pvt Ltd in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to host the 70th Filmfare Awards 2025.
The agreement was signed by TCGL Managing Director Prabhav Joshi and Worldwide Media’s Rohit Gopakumar. Under the Cinematic Tourism Policy 2022, Gujarat has emerged as a hub for the film industry. According to the press release of Gujarat CMO, hosting the Filmfare Awards will be a milestone in this journey.
On the occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also unveiled the prestigious Filmfare Trophy – The Black Lady.
CM Patel highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has got a new direction in economic, social and cultural development, making it a preferred destination for entertainment investments. He emphasized that the film industry can strongly promote swadeshi (indigenous production) and atmanirbharta (self-reliance).
Hosting the prestigious Filmfare Awards in Gujarat will not only boost the local economy and generate employment, but will also promote buying and selling of local products, thereby fulfilling the Prime Minister’s call of ‘Vocal for Local’ and promoting adoption of indigenous goods and services.
