,Tamil filmmakers move High Court seeking ban on film reviews for three days from release date
Tamil Film Active Producers Association (TFAPA) filed a writ petition in the Madras High Court seeking direction to the Central and State governments to ban online movie reviews on social media for three days before the date of release in theatres. Platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X.
However, the judge refused to issue an interim direction to the Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner to restrain YouTube channels from recording the views of viewers inside cinema theater premises or of newly released films, pending the decision on the main writ petition.
