The first footage from The Apprentice was released on Tuesday, providing a glimpse of the controversial biopic directed by Ali Abbasi. In the one-minute clip, Sebastian Stan can be seen as a young Donald Trump alongside his infamous mentor, Roy Cohn. Succession star Jeremy Strong plays the late US prosecutor who was disbarred before his death at the age of 59.

Briarcliff Entertainment shared a short teaser on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the film, which received standing ovations at the Cannes and Telluride Film Festivals, is set to release in theaters on October 11. According to the official synopsis, the film “tells the story of a young Donald Trump’s rise to power through a Faustian deal with influential right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn.” The clip shows a scene in which the young Trump is seen walking around New York City sitting next to his coach, Cohn.

“About 100 journalists were after me to get this interview, and I have given you the exclusive interview,” the controversial lawyer said before handing the phone to the budding businessman. [Stan] He then goes on the call and discusses his plans to buy the Commodore Hotel in New York. When prompted by Cohn, he says, “I plan to build the finest and finest building in the city – maybe even the country.” He then adds, “The finest building in the world.”
Alongside Strong and the Marvel star, the main cast includes Maria Bakalova (Transgression) as Ivana Trump, Martin Donovan (Insomnia) as Fred Trump, Ben Sullivan (Jackals) as Russell Eldridge, Charlie Carrick (Alice, Darling) as Fred Trump Jr., Mark Rendall (No Good Deed) as Daniel Sullivan and Joe Pingue (Tasties) as Anthony Salerno.
