A scene from ‘Twilight of the Gods’
Zack Snyder’s upcoming animated Netflix series, Twilight of the Godsis set to premiere on September 19. The series, based on Norse mythology, is a joint effort between Snyder’s Stone Quarry Studios, Jay Oliva, who served as executive producer, and Netflix. The official basis is as follows:
In a mythical world of great battles, great deeds and great despair, Leif, a mortal king, is rescued on the battlefield by Sigrid, a strong-willed warrior with whom he falls in love. On their wedding night, Sigrid and Leif are saved by Thor’s terrifying wrath, which leads them – and a band of crusaders – on a ruthless mission to defy all odds and seek revenge. This heroic tale of love, loss and revenge is a journey to Hell and beyond… through fantastical lands, fierce and bloody battlefields and wars fought against gods and demons.
The cast includes Sylvia Hoeks as Sigrid, Stuart Martin as Leif, Rahul Kohli as Egil, Patterson Joseph as Loki, Pilou Asbæk as Thor and John Noble as Odin.
Netflix’s animation lineup continues to expand Twilight of the Godsalong with other anticipated releases this year Terminator Zero in August, lara croft tomb raider series and final season in October of distinction in November. The announcement comes shortly after Snyder’s Rebel Moon series receives a Director’s Cut edition on Netflix later this year.
