Michael Teaser: Antoine Fuqua’s much-awaited film on the life of the King of Pop is set to release in April next year.
Michael Jackson is a name that needs no introduction. When it was announced that a biopic would be made on his life, fans were predictably excited. After much delay, the makers have now released the first official teaser of Michael, which sees the late music legend’s nephew in the role.

The film’s minute-long teaser gave fans a glimpse of Michael’s nephew and Jermaine Jackson’s son, Jafar Jackson, as the King of Pop. He works with renowned producer Quincy Jones (Kendrick Sampson) as they prepare to release the thriller, one of his most enduring works.
“I know you’ve been waiting for this for a long time. The tracks are done, the songs are ready. Let’s get it over the top. … This is your story,” Sampson says as images of Jackson come into rapid succession.
The film’s official logline reads, “Michael is a cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the world’s most influential artists. The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the frontman of the Jackson Five to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled his relentless quest to become the greatest entertainer in the world. His life off the stage and some of his most iconic performances are highlighted. His early singles This film gives audiences a front row seat to Michael Jackson’s career like never before. This is where his story begins.”
How did fans react?
Reacting to the teaser, a fan commented, “The greatest entertainer ever to walk this planet. Without the internet, without social media, he still ruled the world like a king. Even today, no one can come close to the kind of global stardom that MJ had.” One comment read, “The voice is so perfect I’m stunned.” Another said, “Seeing Jafar playing my uncle brought a smile to my face… I have high hopes from this movie… Please law make it good. Michael also stars Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Cru Valdi, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo. It is directed by Antoine Fuqua and will be released in theaters on April 24, 2026.
