Billionaire status
According to a new report from Forbes, the 74-year-old legendary hitmaker is now a billionaire. The publication puts his net worth at a “conservative” estimate of $1.1 billion.
His net worth has grown significantly over the past few years. The singer earned the bulk of his wealth by selling his music catalog to Sony in 2021, which was worth an estimated $500 million to $550 million, the largest transaction ever for a single artist’s work.
It was also reported that in 2023, he sold over 1.6 million concert tickets, generating revenue of $380 million.
With over 71 million albums sold in the U.S. and over 140 million worldwide, Bruce is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In addition to his catalog and tour revenue, Bruce also held two residencies on Broadway, where he performed 267 shows and grossed $113,058,952 at the box office.
He has won 20 Grammy Awards, an Oscar, and a special Tony Award for Springsteen on Broadway, his critically acclaimed, stripped-back one-man show. He received Kennedy Center Honors in 2009 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
What’s next for Bruce?
Bruce canceled the remaining 2023 shows of his tour last September, as he had to undergo treatment for peptic ulcer disease. Currently, he is on tour across Europe. His next show is in Norway on July 21.
Recently, he released a collaborative track with Zach Bryan called Sandpaper, which is a part of the latter’s new album The Great American Bar Scene. The singer is also the focus of an upcoming biopic based on Deliver Me From Nowhere, which will star The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White in the lead role.
