Former inmate explains he won’t get ‘special treatment’ in prison because of Didi’s wealth: ‘Accept where you are’

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was put behind bars after he was accused of sex trafficking and racketeering. He is currently being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he awaits trial which is expected to take place in early October. The disgraced mogul was known for his luxurious lifestyle, but the same cannot be said for a lifetime in jail. Timothy Smith has painted a picture of what Diddy’s current conditions are like in prison.

No ‘special treatment’ for Didi

Smith, who had spent time in US federal prison, assured that despite Diddy’s wealth and status he would receive “no special treatment” in prison. “Their money and assets will not provide them any benefit,” he told Daily Mail Australia. He added, “In the federal system, it’s so limited that you don’t get extra privileges because you’re rich. You’re allowed some basics like tracksuits and sneakers from the commissary, but that’s about it. They do raids and if you try to stock up, they take everything,” from his own experiences with prisoners of high social status.

He revealed that guards in prison often use isolation to break prisoners. “He’s in the management unit, so no, he doesn’t have access to other inmates,” he told the media outlet.

The former Married at First Sight star dismissed common misconceptions, explaining, “People think there are TVs and radios, but where she is there is nothing, not even radio. You get one Bible and one book per week. That’s all.” He also said that Diddy would have very limited communication with the outside world. Smith said, “You only get 30 minutes on the phone a month, so if you’re on the phone 30 minutes a day, After 10 days, you don’t get any calls for the next 20 days, sometimes you run out of minutes in the first week, and then you’re just talking to yourself.”

Smith assured that Diddy would not be given any room to negotiate or receive special treatment while in prison. “Even in the general population, there is not one cell, one TV,” he told the media outlet. There will be a hundred people in that pod, and there are usually only a few TVs, which varies by race. He assured that the value of Didi’s property in prison would be worth nothing, “nothing at all.”

Didi’s future looks bleak

Diddy’s case is a high-profile case and the mogul will face a lengthy sentence if he is convicted. Smith suggested, “Once the feds have indicted you, they’ve made their case. The best advice I could give him? Accept where you are. You don’t have to negotiate to get rid of federal charges.” He added, “If you think you’re going to break them, they’re going to break you.”

Diddy’s lawyer recently announced that the Bad Boy Records owner will not accept a plea deal and will prove his innocence. However, Smith advised, “In my experience, three people took their cases to trial thinking they could win, and they ended up getting worse sentences than they would have received if they had accepted a plea.” Would have taken.”
