Francis Ford Copla’s ‘The Godfather’ trilogy to return to Indian cinemas in 4K restoration

‘The Godfather’ (1972), ‘The Godfather Part II’ (1974) and ‘The Godfather Part III’ (1990)-will be re-released in select theaters in India.

American cinema icon Francis Ford Copola Righteous The Trillji 4K restored version will return to the cinema hall across India, PVR Inox announced on Tuesday.

Landmark movies – Righteous (1972), The Godfather Part II (1974) and The Godfather Part III (1990) -12 September will be reopened in select theaters starting with the first installment on September 12, followed by two sequel on 17 October and 14 respectively.

Customized by Mario Pujo’s bestseling novel, the trilogy is widely considered the cornerstone of global cinema. It introduces the powerful Italian-American mafia family led by Don Vito Korlen (Marlon Brando) and then detects the change of his youngest son, Michael (Al Pachino), in a ruthless mafia boss from a unwilling outsider.

The trilogy, which examines the topics of the cost of power, loyalty, family, corruption, morality, and ambition, re -defines gangster films and has a permanent cultural impact on cinema worldwide.

In a statement, Niharika Electricity, Lead Stratagist, PVR Inox Limited said Righteous The trilogy remains a golden standard of cinematic story telling – a masterclass in performance, Disha and Katha depth.
