French President Emmanuel Macron meets Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Ricky Cage and other Bollywood celebs during Mumbai visit

New Delhi: French President Emmanuel Macron added a dash of cinematic glamor to his diplomatic visit to Mumbai on Tuesday as he had a special interaction with Bollywood celebrities.

French leader and first lady Brigitte Macron met leading personalities of Indian cinema, including actors like Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha and Shabana Azmi.
Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar also attended the special meeting with Grammy Award-winning musician Ricky Cage.

Macron shared photos of their gathering on his official X handle, which showed the leader interacting with celebrities. He wrote in the caption, “With the legends of Indian cinema. Culture brings us together.”

French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron arrived in Mumbai early Tuesday for their scheduled visit to India till February 19.

French President and First Lady Brigitte Macron were welcomed by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Mumbai airport.

In the morning, Macron was seen jogging with a team of security personnel, including French and Indian officials.

In a poignant moment showing international solidarity against terrorism, French President Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron paid tribute to the victims of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks upon their arrival.
After the Mumbai engagements, the delegation will travel to Delhi for the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

Held at the Bharat Mandapam from 16 to 20 February, the event is the first global AI summit held in the Global South.

The India AI Impact Summit is designed as a five-day event based on three fundamental pillars, or “points”: people, planet and progress.

Building on PM Modi’s co-chairmanship of the AI ​​Action Summit with Macron in Paris in February 2025, the French President’s participation underlines the importance given by both countries to emerging technologies.
