From playing Tulsi to Parliament: How Kyanki mother -in -law was also daughter -in -law

New Delhi: Television Nostalgia hit a fever pitch, as the first look of Smriti Irani repeats her prestigious role for two, the legendary soap opera mother -in -law of the mother -in -law also dropped online from Kabi Bahu Therie.

Internet enthusiasts were enthusiastically because fans were withdrawn in the golden age of Indian television, at a time when Iranian’s ideal Indian daughter -in -law became a domestic name.

Miss India began her journey in the headlines through modeling and television advertisements before getting up for fame with her role as a finalist, Smriti Irani, Tulsi Virani.

Premier in 2000, the acta Kapoor-made show quickly rose to the creed position, running for more than eight years and became one of the longest and most influential Indian soaps. The show was focused around the rich Virani family, falling in love with Tulsi, daughter of a humble priest, with Mihir Virani (starred by Amar Upadhyay). After the division of the classroom and overcoming family opposition, Tulsi’s journey became a reliable story for millions of spectators across the country.

Tulsi’s character was everything that Indian television praised in its women’s lead, sweet, self-sacrifice, sensitive, yet unbreakable in her moral compass. From living conspiracies indoors to dealing with her extreme mother-in-law Savita (Apara Mehta), Tulsi never let her dignity go. Traditional Gujarati sarees, wide ornaments, and her wardrobe with a major bindi became distinguished, while the show’s dramatic music and slow slap sequence became television trademarks.

Fans, who grew up with the original series, are now eagerly waiting for its return. In a post unveiling the reboot, the manufacturers wrote:
“Kya aap abhi bhi vishwaas nahi kar paa rahe?

The reboot premieres on Star Plus at 10:30 pm on July 29, and will also stream on Jiocinema and Disney+ Hotstar.

Social media exploded with comments of joy and apathy. A fan wrote, “Gozbamps … a lot of childhood memories. My inspiration to be like Tulsi,” a fan wrote. Another couple, “TV time for India is going to be once again at 10:30 pm.”

After failing to secure the Amethi seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Irani shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, “This is life … a decade of my life from one village to another, going from one village to another, building life, nurturing hope and aspirations …”
He concluded with an indication for his sometimes flexibility, wrote, “They are asking people, ‘Josh?’ I say – it is still high, sir.

Industry colleagues, including actor Mouni Roy, who once acted with him in Kyanki mother -in -law Bhii Kabi Bahu Thi, showed their support. “Always with you,” Roy commented.

As the Tulsi prepares to return to the screen, one thing is clear: some stories, and some characters, really never leave us.
