New Delhi: Actress Simrat Kaur Randhawa made a sentimental choice for her outfit at the International Iconic Awards, where she received the Best Debut Award for her role in the film “Gaddar 2”. Kaur wore the same white outfit that she wore when she first made a public appearance during the promotions of her debut film.
Sharing her happiness on winning the award and getting recognition for her performance in ‘Gaddar 2’, Kaur said, “It is special as it is my first debut award. As an actor, firsts are always special.”
Decoding the ‘Lucky White Dress’
Simrat wore a white Anarkali gown, paired with leggings and a matching dupatta. She wore long pearl earrings. She completed her look with minimal makeup and open hair.
Expressing her fondness towards the ‘lucky white’ dress, Kaur said, “Well, this was the dress I wore for the first time in front of the world of Bollywood. So, this dress is very special and close to my heart. Today, as I received my debut award, I feel I should wear this dress again to be back to where I started from. Sometimes, certain things and outfits are close to the heart, and you feel like recreating them, living the moment once again. And also, it is budget-friendly sometimes, so yes.”
When asked if she took inspiration from Alia Bhatt’s recent trend of wearing the same kind of clothes for special occasions, Simrat clarified, “Well, I wouldn’t say inspired, but I have always done it, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong in wearing the same kind of clothes. But since Alia Bhatt has done it, now people are more aware of it and are happy with it because she has a huge influence on all of us.”
