George Clooney recently expressed his deep disappointment in filmmaker Quentin Tarantino after some harsh comments he made about his career.
The 63-year-old icon, who is usually hesitant to air his grievances publicly, was clearly offended by Tarantino’s comment that Clooney “isn’t a movie star.”
In a recent interview, Tarantino, with whom Clooney once collaborated on the film From Dusk Till Dawn, downplayed Clooney’s status as a leading man in Hollywood.
Speaking about the surprise feud during a joint interview with Brad Pitt for the September issue of GQ magazine, Clooney said: “Quentin has said some rubbish about me recently, so I’m a bit miffed with him.”
“He gave some interviews in which he was taking names of movie stars, and he was talking about [Brad Pitt]And somebody else, and then this guy says, ‘Well, what about George?’ He says, ‘He’s not a movie star.’”

Clooney expressed his disbelief, particularly at Tarantino’s suggestion that he had not made a significant film since the year 2000. “And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me one movie since the millennium.’ And I was like, ‘Since the millennium? That’s my whole fucking career.'”
“So now I’m like, OK man, screw it. I don’t mind giving him shit.”
It’s clear that Tarantino’s comments hurt Clooney.
Clooney has had quite an illustrious career over the past two decades, including two Academy Awards – one for Best Supporting Actor in Syriana in 2005 and another for his producer role in Argo – and starring in several critically acclaimed films.
Clooney also said GQ“I wrote a Broadway play, Good Night, and Good Luck ,” he said, referring to the stage adaptation of the 2005 film he directed, itself an exploration of the life of journalist Edward R. Murrow.

“I’m going to be on Broadway. Look, it’s going to be six months of my life in New York… I’m going to have time to myself with my kids. I have so much fun taking them to school, and my wife and I have a wonderful time. So I don’t want to lose any of that. But this is an opportunity to do something I’ve never done before. I’ve never been on Broadway,” the veteran Batman star said.
