The long-awaited trailer Gladiator 2The much-awaited sequel to his 2000 blockbuster has been unveiled. Ridley Scott’s upcoming directorial venture stars Paul Mescal as an adult Lucius, who was played by Spencer Treat Clark in the original film. The film is set two decades after the events of Russell Crowe’s iconic film. The story unfolds in Numidia, North Africa, where Lucius was sent by his mother Lucilla to escape the influence of the Roman Empire. However, unfolding events force him to return to Rome, where he becomes a gladiator.
Ahead of the trailer release, Paramount Pictures released the first poster of the film on Monday.
