A scene from Ridley Scott’s film ‘Gladiator’
At the 2024 CineEurope trade show in Barcelona, Paramount surprised attendees with a spectacular showcase, including a performance by Ridley Scott. Gladiator 2The studio built a giant cardboard coliseum around the main auditorium, complete with Roman legionaries, setting the stage for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2000 classic.

In the video introduction, Scott reassured fans that the sequel was “worth the wait”, despite nearly 25 years having passed since the original film. Paramount’s president of international theatrical distribution Mark Wiene emphasized the film’s grandeur, claiming it featured “the biggest action sequences ever put to film”.
