New Delhi: SS Rajamouli’s next starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran is generating massive anticipation. Now the title of the film has been revealed. The announcement was made at a huge fan event at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where around 50,000 attendees gathered. The event was also live-streamed on JioHotstar.
The name of the film is Varanasi.
The much awaited first look of Mahesh Babu was finally released at the event hosted by YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and popular Telugu presenter Suma Kanakala. The actor made a dramatic entry to Varanasi on a giant bull.

Mahesh Babu is seen waving a trident while riding a bull on a dusty road, with tall temples in the background. The clip ends with the title Varanasi appearing on the screen.
The teaser of the film was displayed on a huge screen measuring 130 feet by 100 feet. Earlier, the makers had revealed character posters which introduced Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha.
In a tweet on Saturday, Rajamouli confirmed, “The title of the film will be revealed to the world with a visual… Once it airs on the big screen at the #Globetrotter event, we will do it live online.”

According to an IANS report, industry sources said, “The Grand Globetrotter event on November 15 is shaping up to be a cultural moment in itself. The scale that is being planned is unlike anything attempted by the industry; we are expecting over 50,000 fans to gather under one roof. It will be the largest stage and screen for films worldwide with a screen 100 feet in height and 130 feet wide.”

Varanasi is SS Rajamouli’s next film after the 2022 hit RRR, which received global praise. The film also won an Oscar for the song Naatu Naatu, composed by MM Keeravani with lyrics by Chandrabose.
Varanasi stars Mahesh Babu in the lead role, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas playing the role of Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the role of the villain Kumbha.
Although the film’s puja was held in January, further details about the project were kept under wraps.
Unlike Rajamouli’s previous films, he did not hold a press meet to discuss the synopsis. Shooting took place in Kenya as well as in Odisha and Hyderabad in India.
