Mumbai: Amidst the rumors going on about Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja, the actor has finally spoken for the first time.
There have been reports of a possible rift in their marriage for several months. Many people wondered where this relationship was headed. Now, Govinda has broken his silence and shared his side of the story.
Speaking to ANI, Govinda said he chose to speak out now because remaining silent makes him look “weak” and adds to the “problematic” image people are creating about him. Talking about what he thinks is happening behind the scenes, Govinda talked about a “big conspiracy” and how, in his view, even his loved ones are being “used” without realizing it.

“…I’ve been noticing lately that sometimes when we don’t speak up, we either appear weak or as if we are the problem… So, today, I’m responding. I was told that people in my family may be unwittingly involved, and they may not realize that they are being used in the beginning stages of a larger conspiracy…”

He said, “First of all, the family is affected, and then it spreads to society. I have been away from work for many years; there is no market for my films, and please don’t take it as me complaining or crying. I myself have rejected many films, so I don’t cry about it.”
Govinda further revealed that Sunita is often worried about him rejecting her projects, but perhaps fails to see how she herself is being pulled into the “conspiracy”.
“…But she can never imagine that she herself has been unknowingly drawn into a bigger conspiracy, that she has been fielded as an opening batsman.”
The actor further said that when someone becomes very popular, some people try to “destroy” his reputation in the society. He said, “…ruining someone’s reputation in the society and imposing something on them, like in the beginning, a very dangerous man accused me and that man got exposed later. When your popularity in the film industry goes beyond a certain point, many people come forward to ruin you.”
Govinda also spoke from the heart about his family and children. He said he was praying to God that there should be no “misunderstanding” so that he would not be “suffocated”.
The actor said, “I pray to God to spare me from this problem, and I also pray for the welfare of my children… I pray that there is no misunderstanding and I am not suffocated… I make a humble request, especially to my family.”
Govinda and Sunita, who have been married since 1987, are the parents of Tina and Yashvardhan. While Tina made her Bollywood debut with ‘Second Hand Husband’ in 2015, Yashvardhan is preparing for his acting debut soon.
