The rift between superstar Govinda and his nephew Krishna Abhishek remained in the headlines for years. The couple recently met when the actor appeared on Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, where they met after a long time and even hugged on stage, marking an end to their strained relationship. During his appearance on the show, Govinda revealed what exactly caused the rift between their families and how things led to a fight. For those unaware, it all started in 2016 when the superstar found one of Krishna’s jokes offensive.
Determined to reveal the secret, Govinda started with “Now I tell the truth” and started narrating what happened. “One day I got very angry at him. I asked, ‘What dialogues do he get written?’ My wife Sunita said, ‘The entire film industry does this. Don’t say anything to Krishna, he is earning money and let him do his work. You won’t stop for anyone, don’t do anyone wrong (Don’t stop anyone, don’t do anything wrong).’ So I would like to say to her, ‘You say sorry to her, she loves,'” the actor explained.
Krishna immediately replied, “Yes, yes, I love her too. If there are any such feelings then forgive me, I love you very much.”
Krishna said on the show, “For the first time, I broke character, but I would like to say one thing – today is one of the most special day, one of the most memorable day of my seven years.” Of exile Concluded today by sharing the stage with my uncle. I think this is one of the best moments. Everyone was expecting it too.”
The groom was seen in the Raja Star show with Shakti Kapoor and Chunky Pandey. While we get a glimpse of the camaraderie between the greatest comedy actors of the 90s, it’s the family reunion that takes the cake.
After Krishna’s joke, matters took a turn for the worse when his wife Kashmera Shah posted a tweet about people dancing for money, which was believed to be targeted at Govinda. His wife Sunita Ahuja has gone on record to say that she never appeared in the Netflix version of The Kapil Sharma Show due to the feud, and even mentioned that the chances of reconciliation between the families are slim to none.
