‘Green Girl’ is a great canvas for people in love: Sarathak Hegde on its Interfath Kannada romance

“My film is a great canvas to two people,” director Sarathak Hegde said about his film GreenGirl He urges people to watch beyond the most obvious point in the film-Hindu-Muslim angle.

“Young couples are often embarrassed in the name of moral policing. They are expected to study together and not fall in love. Green girl, The couple’s desires may seem immature, but subconsciously, this is a political work, and we wanted to glorify it by giving it a platform, ”they explain.

Playing Mayur Gowda and Sucharita Haritas as life and amna respectively, Green girl In the coastal Karnataka, an interfath added and tells the story of their American dreams amidst religious conflicts.

After its screening at festivals, including international documentary and Kerala’s Small Film Festival (IDSF), Green girl On September 12, the screen is ready to hit the screen, with KRG studio Kannada plays.

Even it narrates a tender love story, Green girl Vach for unity, clearly in the opening, where all background children celebrate Indians. “My version of India is shown in the initial shot of the film. You see a little girl prepared as Mother India with a tricolor. She gives a faint smile. According to me, India is young and fickle, but big reality is different,” she provides.

The reality is a communal division in the region. “Communal tension has always been, and then Bapnadu is,” Sarthak says, referring to the Bappadu temple (also known as Durga Parmeshwari Temple), Bappa Beri, built by Bappa Beri, a Muslim sailor and businessman in the 13th century, which is a symbol of the synchronic paste of coastal Karnataka.

The title of the film, Sarathak, states that Amina refers to the syllabus, because due to a certain color with her. We brought the aspect of color to her character to make humanitarian. It is also superficial to reduce Ana in one color. We wanted to create this contradiction. ,

Define the experience of working for Mayur and Suchrita As a green girl Transformative. Mayur says, “Jeevan reminded me of my past. I had a lot of insecurity. This film changed my attitude about many things.”

For Suchrita, it was important to understand the world of Amina. “He (Ana) I am not close to the person I am. Therefore, I wanted to be him and wanted to live that character completely.”

The mentality of life is marked innocence, while Amina’s actions are operated by rebellion. However, both are on the same page that are about going to America for “better future”. “For life, America symbolizes avoiding all its concerns,” says Mayur.

Sarathak, who chased his education in the US, says that the germs of the film were born since the time spent in the country. “The climax of the film was inspired by the American dream that we see among the Indians of small towns. Of course, as naive youth, we do not know about the geopolitical realities of America. It said, people’s grass-e-genr mentality that makes America stand for freedom for them.”

There is an objective for western-influential music, considering satik. “Music was to provide the influence of America that oversee the story. The music is a symbol of America that welcome the couple after what they do. We used a mixture of syntha and opera. The background score was the orchestra for this reason.”

Even when we fascinate the world of life and their generous thinking is challenged by fundamentalists from their community, we are hardly given the spirit of the world of Amina. Green girl It only provides subtle signals about the influence of its community and people.

“From the very beginning, we were clear that we would follow the journey of life,” explains the chanting. “Extremism from both sides is wrong. If we show this, I will increase hatred in society. Amina is going through the same feelings of life about our fragmented society.”

Prohibited love often ends in the tragedy. Sarathak admitted that he feels guilty of keeping the characters through grief.

“A film merges with the story and reality. We can control what we have with our characters. We had the power to change their fate, but it only understands to be true,” the filmmaker said how Nagraj Manjule says. Sabit (2016) has yet to create an equal shocking realistic influence. ,Sabit Was so raw. The climax causes cracks and brings you back to harsh reality. Similarly, Green girl Despite its elements of magical realism, it was to be vested. ,

The film found a little challenging to maneuver around CBFC that thanks to its touch base. “The censorship process took the process close to two and a half months,” Sarathak revealed. “Certification was previously refused, and then we appealed. CBFC approved the film, but was worried about how people would get it. The board wanted us to remove some words, thinking that it could trigger people. The film is releasing with 12 audio cuts, but no scene was removed.”

Like a film Green girl Given the current political atmosphere, it is a bold step. “As I was performing, I felt sad for Ana. They (Amina and Jeevan) were two innocent people. They did nothing wrong to be humiliated,” says Suchratitha. Sarathak hopes that the film or his scenes will not be excluded from the context. “I hope people understand what the film wants to say as a whole. Our message is universal.”
