Guru Purnima 2025: not to inspect dos and holy day

Guru Purnima, on Thursday, July 10, 2025 falling, is a spiritually important festival in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain traditions. It is a day dedicated to honor teachers, masters and spiritual guides that illuminate our path with knowledge and knowledge. Initial in ancient Indian culture, Guru Purnima is celebrated with deep reverence, introspection and spiritual discipline.

Why is Guru Purnima celebrated?

Dos on Guru Purnima

1. Honor your guru or teachers

Start your day to focus yourself spiritually with meditation, chanting, or recitation of mantra.

Many people inspect special priests and rituals to seek blessings and inner peace.

Many devotees consume a sharp or only Sattvik (pure) food, avoid onion, garlic and heavy spices.

Fasting helps in promoting clarity and spiritual attention.

4. Read or listen to spiritual discourses
Read the holy texts like Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Vasya, or teachings of your Guru.

Participate physically or online, participate in satsang or spiritual ceremonies.

5. Do service work (service)
Help others by supporting your community, temple, or even your teacher’s mission.

Donating to support your guru is a meaningful gesture.

6. Express gratitude
Your bosses reflected the impact on your life.

There is a simple message of thanks or a deep value of a prayer in their name.

Not on Guru Purnima

1. Avoid negative speech or gossip
Maintain the purity of speech. Speaking of sick to others goes against the spiritual discipline of the day.

Avoid alcohol, non-vegetarian food, or bhogi entertainment. Keep your activities simple and spiritual.

3. Do not ignore your elders or teachers
Failed to accept those who have shaped your life, even with an idea or prayer, goes against the spirit of the day.

4. Avoid materialistic distractions
Keep social media, shopping and entertainment minimum. Use time for internal reflection and learning.

5. Do not leave introspection
This is the day to prevent and reflect your personal journey. Ignoring self-assessment is an opportunity for an omission.
