Hailey Bieber has opened up about rumours surrounding her relationship with her husband, singer Justin Bieber, and explained why she initially kept her pregnancy a secret.
Model Hailey Bieber is reflecting on her relationship with her singer-husband Justin Bieber. In a new article Interview Speaking to W magazine, she said the criticism of her relationship with the Canadian popstar “hurt” her, although she tried to pretend it didn’t bother her. ‘It seems like people don’t want to believe that we are happy’
She said, “People have made me feel really bad about my relationship from day one. ‘Oh, they’re splitting up. They hate each other. They’re getting divorced.’ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy… I used to try to act like it hurts less. I tried to think that at a certain point you get used to it, that that’s what’s going to be said and that’s just the way people are going to be. But I realized that it never really hurts any less.”
‘I could have probably kept the pregnancy a secret until the end’
Earlier this year, reports claimed the couple were going through a ‘tough time’ and in May, Hailey and Justin announced they were expecting their first child and had renewed their vows. Hailey has now also revealed that her decision to keep her pregnancy out of the public eye for six months was initially due to her desire for privacy and her ‘small’ size.
Hailey said, “Honestly, I was able to hide it because I stayed small for a long time. My belly didn’t come out, really, until I was six months pregnant, then I announced it. I was able to wear bigger jackets and stuff… I probably could have hidden it until the end. But I didn’t like the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and that didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
