Halsey’s confessional concept album is expected to be released later this year.

Halsey announces new album: Watch the trailer
Two months after being diagnosed with lupus and a rare T-cell disorder, Halsey released a trailer for her new album. At the beginning of the trailer, Halsey can be heard saying in voiceover, “I really thought this album would be my last album.”
The trailer then includes several short clips in which the Without Me singer is seen cosplaying David Bowie and Britney Spears. Dressed in retro outfits from several decades, she confesses in the narration, “When you get sick like that, you start thinking it could have all been different,” as Billboard reported.
The clip then switched to a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album as she continued to describe, “What if I started in the early 2000s? In the ’90s? In the ’80s? In the ’70s? Would I be Halsey every time? In all the times, would I still get sick? Would I be a mom?”
Halsey also used a snippet from her single Lucky, released earlier this year, as well as others following the aesthetics of the decades she mentioned in her description. She said at the end of the trailer, “If this was all over right now, is this the person you’d be proud to leave behind? Is this who you are?”

She has not announced a release date for the album, but her website indicates it will be released later this year.
