Devi Sri Prasad, Hanumankind and Aditya Gadhvi were among the artistes who performed at the ‘Modi aur America’ event held in New York on Sunday.

The ‘Modi Aur America’ super show was in full swing when renowned artists Devi Sri Prasad, Hanumankind and Aditya Gadhvi performed in front of over 13,500 people at Nassau Coliseum in New York. Popular hip-hop artist Hanumankind also enthralled the audience with his amazing performance. This was the first time that these stars performed together on the same stage, which was a truly memorable experience for the audience.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Nassau Coliseum where he addressed the enthusiastic Indian diaspora. Prime Minister Modi’s address at the “Modi and America” ​​event at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York was a historic event where 15,000 Indian diaspora from 42 different states gathered to welcome the Prime Minister.

Artists from various groups have been preparing for several days to perform traditional music for the grand event to be held after the arrival of the Prime Minister. The artists performed ‘Yakshagana’, a traditional folk dance prevalent in the coastal districts of Karnataka and parts of Kerala, at the venue.

Indian diaspora belonging to Tamil Nadu played the traditional musical instrument ‘parai’ at the event before PM Modi addressed the diaspora community. On Sunday, a group was seen performing Mallakhamb – an acrobatic activity that originated in Maharashtra – outside the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York.

Jaydev Anta of Mallakhamb Federation US said, “We are promoting Mallakhamb in the USA as an acrobatic and gymnastic sport with the aim of getting it included in the Olympics. We are using every opportunity to present it to the public.”

Earlier in a post on Instagram, PM Modi shared photos of his meeting with the Indian diaspora and wrote, “Reached New York after the event in Delaware. Looking forward to being among the diaspora and participating in community events in the city.”

Prime Minister Modi will chair key bilateral meetings and participate in a CEO Roundtable in New York apart from addressing the Future Summit on September 23.
