Shoojit Sircar’s film is based on the real-life story of a single father whose life changes after he is diagnosed with cancer. It tells a heart-touching story of how he deals with life-changing cancer surgery and his relationship with his daughter. The film earned Abhishek Bachchan the ‘Best Actor’ trophy at the 70th Filmfare Awards.

2. Be happy

Abhishek Bachchan, who impressed critics and the public as a father in ‘I Want to Talk’, also did a brilliant job in ‘Be Happy’. This dance drama film is written and directed by Remo D’Souza. It starred Abhishek Bachchan, Inayat Verma, Nora Fatehi and Nassar in lead roles.

3. Dasvi

The 2022 social comedy was directed by debutant director Tushar Jalota. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur, the film had Bachchan Jr playing the role of an uneducated politician, while Gautam played the role of an IPS officer.

4. Ghoomar

In this sports drama from R Balki, Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of Padam ‘Paddy’ Singh Sodhi – an inconsistent and unsuccessful Test cricketer who becomes a coach for Anina ‘Ani’ Dixit, played by Saiyami Kher. The actress’s character becomes disabled after losing her right arm due to a freak accident and the story progresses how she trains with a coach to strengthen herself again, and becomes a left-arm spinner for the Indian national team.

5. Ludo

This 2020 black comedy film written and directed by Anurag Basu – 4 different stories won the hearts of the audience. The cast included Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf and Pearle Mane.

6. Guru

The 2007 film directed by Mani Ratnam stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, R Madhavan and Mithun Chakraborty in lead roles. The film is based on the life of famous late Indian businessman Dhirubhai Ambani. The widely acclaimed film became the only top-grossing Hindi film of that year.

7. Bob Biswas

Junior Bachchan received widespread praise for his portrayal, with many calling it one of his best performances, noting his ability to abandon his star image for a cool, dangerous and vulnerable character. Directed by debutant Dia Annapurna Ghosh, Bob Biswas is a spin-off of the 2012 thriller Kahaani, starring Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role, which was originally played by Saswata Chatterjee.
