Saying that the presence of director Mani Ratnam was a source of strength for him, actor, producer and politician Kamal Haasan, wishes his birthday to his director of his ‘Thug Life’ on Monday.
To take a heartfelt birthday to his ex-timeline to pen Greeting, Kamal Haasan wrote, “Happy Birthday, Mani Ratnam. From Nayakan to Thug Jeevan, we have traveled together through time-such as colleagues, family, co-drimmers, and all, cinema students. Others.”

The actor further wrote, “Your stories keep in front, with every frame, your vision brings depth, beauty and meaning to cinema. Your friend, Kamal Haasan forever.”
Interestingly, Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan have come together for their upcoming film ‘Thug Life’ after about 38 years. The film, which launched huge expectations among fans and film enthusiasts, has determined to hit the screen on 5 June.
In addition to Kamal Haasan, the film includes Silambarson, Trisha, Jujo George, Ashok Selvan and Abhirami in Pivolell roles. Kamal Haasan played a character called Sakathivale Naikan in the film, which was described by Madras Talkies, the production house of director Mani Ratnam, as “an epic story of power, rebellion and victory”.
The film stars music by AR Rahman and Cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran. It edited and stunts by stuntmasters, Anbariva by Srikar Prasad, a reliable editor of Mani Ratnam.
Kamal Haasan recently revealed how confident he was in the film and the fact that the audience would expand his support. “Let me tell you how much I am confident. Other manufacturers don’t think I am throwing a challenge for all of them. This is not the case. I have sold only satellites and OTT rights of this film.
Everyone else, we are distributing ourselves. We are distributing Mani Sir without risk. “Tell me, how much confidence we must be in this film to do so. We know how to do business to an extent, trusting you, we have made a good film and invested in it. We have pledged the fields and put fertilizer for crops. The strength to give more good films,” he revealed.
