Hariyali Tees is scheduled to be celebrated with all pomp on 27 August 2025. This teej comes on the Shukla Paksha Tritiya in the month of Shravan, and according to the Drink Panchang, it usually occurs two days before Nag Panchami. Hariyali Teej is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, and it falls during the month of Saran (or hearing), which is the sacred month to inspect various fastings dedicated to Shiva and Parvati.
Hariyali Tees recalled the association of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati, which symbolizes the intensive bond between the masculine and female energy of the universe. According to legends, Goddess Parvati spent 107 births in harsh penance to win over the affection of Lord Shiva. It was during her 108th birth that Goddess Parvati could finally win on Lord Shiva on this day. She was also known as Tees Mata.

Hariyali Teej is mainly celebrated by women in North India, especially in states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
