‘Harry Potter’ HBO TV series to be led by ‘Succession’ alumnus

HBO announced Wednesday that its upcoming harry potter will lead the television series Succession veteran Francesca Gardiner, as writer and show-runner, and Mark Mylod, as director of several episodes.

Both Gardiner and Mylod worked on the HBO series Succession About a family that runs a media empire, it won 19 Emmy Awards. Gardiner was on the producing team and Mylod served as director and producer.

Gardiner is also known for his work on HBO’s fantasy show His Dark Materials While Mylod directed the episode game of Thrones and the second season coming The Last of Us,

HBO reported harry potter The series, which has not yet been officially titled, is described as “a faithful adaptation of the beloved harry potter book series by writer and executive producer J.K. Rowling.”

British author Rowling said on X on Wednesday that she has high hopes for the series. “I am so thrilled to announce our director and writer, both of whom I interviewed as part of the production team,” Rowling said.

He added, “They both have a genuine passion for #HarryPotter, and after reading Francesca’s pilot script and hearing Mark’s vision, I’m confident the TV show will live up to expectations.”

HBO said, “Each season will bring harry potter And these incredible adventures will be brought to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.”

Warner Bros. Discovery announced last year that it was creating a new series about the boy wizard as part of plans for its Max streaming service, which combines HBO Max with Discovery’s unscripted programming.

The seven Harry Potter books have sold more than 600 million copies worldwide. They were made into blockbuster films starring Daniel Radcliffe, which grossed $7.7 billion worldwide from 2001 to 2011.
