Grunt faces $2.3 million tax bill
In 2019, the UK Tax Office (HMRC) investigated the actor’s 2011–12 returns and ordered Grint to pay over $2.3 million in taxes. The Harry Potter actor’s lawyers tried to challenge the decision at a first-tier tribunal hearing in London, however, the judge ruled against them. Because it was hard, because I think it was every day for 10 years eventually. … Sometimes I definitely felt like, ‘I want to do something else.’ I want to see what else is out there,” as reported by Fox Business.
He added, “It never ended. Every year we came back. It was kind of like Groundhog Day. Same set, same people.” “I was obsessed with that character,” Grunt said. So, for me, it was all about being Ron. I didn’t really see any career after it was completed. “I didn’t look that far ahead.”
