One user wrote, “The man kept his blood, sweat and health on a film and did not even win the National Award for excellent performance.”
Another said, “It is called acting. He was entitled to a national award man.”
Another more emotional fan posted Stills from the film, saying, “National awards failed here. Indians failed. Kala failed here. Pratibha failed here. We failed here.”
Why ‘goat life’ was not considered
While the outrage was hearty, this eligibility was misunderstood about the rules. The 71st National Film Awards in 2023 considered or certified films released by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Goat Life, however, only received its certification on 1 February 2024, and hit theaters in March 2024.
This time means that the film will not be considered for the current award cycle, but for the 72nd National Film Awards, it will be announced to be declared next year.
About ‘The goat life’: a story existence and patience
Directed by blessings, ‘Aadujeevitham: The goat life’ is a biopic of existence based on the real -life experiences of Najeeb, a Malayali migrant laborer in Saudi Arabia. Jimmy Jean-Lui, Amala Paul, KR Gokul, and Shoba Mohan’s co-confinement, the film grossed more than 158 crores, kept it in the highest grossing Malayalam films of all time.
Despite the shock in this year’s awards, the goat life remains a strong contender for next year’s honor.
