Hindustan TimesShe recalled how film veteran Rekha told her that she had become her “fan” at the show’s grand premiere. Sharing her joy and excitement, Jayati Bhatia told Hindustan Times, “During the premiere, Rekha ji was talking to Sanjeeda (Shaikh; co-actor) and I was standing in the corner, completely starstruck, as I had never seen her so closely before. Rekha ji saw me, interrupted her conversation and came up to me and said, ‘Lo, hum toh aapke fan ho gaye’. And then she hugged me and kissed me on my cheek.”
Jayati Bhatia said, “He also congratulated me for getting the chance to work on my character the way I wanted. It was such a beautiful compliment that I will always be grateful for it.” For your information, Fatto Bi is one of the confidants of Mallika Jaan (played by Manisha Koirala).
While many Hiramandi While actors are appreciated for their performances, Sharmin Segal has been receiving constant criticism for her acting. Earlier, in an interview with ABP Live, Jayati Bhatia shared her opinion on Sharmin being trolled. She said, “It’s about what approach an actor takes. There are a lot of actors who believe less is more. They feel if they do more it will be too much. Then there is Fatto (Jayati’s character) who is all over the place. Manisha ji’s character has grey shades, it’s a solid character. Faridan’s character (played by Sonakshi Sinha) is a firecracker, she excites you all the time. Then there is Aditi Rao Hydari (who plays Bibbohjaan), you can see her inner strength because when the show starts, she is already working with the revolutionaries.”
Jayati said, “So there are so many characters, how do you make your presence felt? What approach do you take? So, that’s probably the approach she (Sharmin) could have taken, that less is more. She can’t rely on (the same acting style) in the next thing she does. She has to move beyond this, show more to people, while staying true to the story… She has to work harder now. She is our ladli, but as someone who trained her for her first film, I am very protective and affectionate towards her. As a teacher, I can say that she should keep the criticism aside and focus on her work to move forward.”
