Holland Movie Review: Nicole Kidman has kept this uneven thriller together

When? Haolland Windmils and tulip shots and all the cutesy tourists, including wooden shoes and Dutch dance, opens with a trap, you can be forgiven to think that it is the installation of a stepford wives. The fact is that Nicole Kidman, who acted in optimization of the Ira Levin novel in 2004, is in the picture with the Dutch cap, strengthens the trust.

Although it is 2000, for the small community in Holland, Michigan, this watch has stopped some time in a vermi painting. Nancy (Kidman) lives the right suburban life-teaching in a local school, cooking and cleaning her optometrist husband, Fred (Matthew McFaden), and taking care of your 13-year-old son, Harry (Jude Hill).

The first indication of this is that Nancy is not a particularly reliable narrator. So is there anything frightening in Holland or is it all in Nancy’s head? When Greg is carrying much more than the city’s trips to an optometrist, Nancy is suspicious of an affair. When nothing is important in the search for the house, she seeks the help of a fellow teacher, Dave (GAIL GARSIA Burney) to find Greg’s office.

When he also does not reveal any deep, dark secret, Nancy and Dave decides to follow Greg on one of their out-off-town trips and the film goes away from the rail. Sudden mysterious deaths, cannibal dogs and killers who refuse to be dead. The turn is squeezed arbitrarily and all the discomfort and restlessness are rejected which was so efficiently woven in the film.

It only thanks to Kidman that the film holds together. She asks us to believe in the previous events on the screen through a sheer star power. We are ready to invest in Nancy’s story, and begins to uproot the forearm formed carefully as fear for her purity and fear for her life.

In 2000, the film’s installation, a time of Pagers and those pencil-box-shaped mobile phones with green screens and laborious texts, things see more askew. Beautifully shot (Nancy’s bad dreams are creatively terrible), Haolland Instead of ignoring some things, it would be better served with a tight conspiracy and others also wide.

For now, we can see Kidman’s line of black comedy in our apron and sweater, providing excellent support with the burn, incredibly detailed model, with Marvel or Leslie Nielsen laughing on the train set, interrogates a mime as a mime.
