Announcing the show’s production, HBO Executive Vice President of Programming Francesca Orsi praised co-creators George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal. “George, Ryan and the rest of our amazing executive producers, cast and crew have reached new heights with this show’s second season. House of the Dragonshe said. “We are in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into crafting a spectacular season two whose scope and scale is only rivaled by its heart. We couldn’t be more thrilled to continue the story of House Targaryen and to see this team shine once again for season three.”

Based on the article by author Martin game of Thrones Book Fire and Blood, House of the Dragon Follows the Targaryen dynasty in the fictional continent of Westeros. It takes place approximately 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and about 100 years after the Targaryens united the Seven Kingdoms.
